Funded by Defra in partnership with Innovate UK's Transforming Food Production Challenge, the project Accelerating Robotics and Embedding Autonomy in Horticulture (AREA-H) brings together fruit-picking robot specialists, autonomous robotics researchers, poly-tunnel infrastructure providers and soft-fruit growers to co-develop an affordable, adaptable horticulture-specific robotics support system.

Project Vine
Project Vine
Supported by UKRI and Defra, Viticulture 4.0: The Digital Infrastructure, aims to provide integrated digital planning and mapping of all vineyard infrastructure during design, construction and planting. The Research Starter Pilot completed in 2023, and is followed by VISTA (Vineyard Information System for Technology and Automation) project to continue and expand on its success.

Project Air
Supported by UKRI and Defra in the Farming Innovation Pathways (FIP) program, this project partners with the University of Loughborough and Deepdale Farms in Norfolk to explore the potential for combining the use of drones and ground robots in agriculture by installing a robust charging dock on the robotic platform utilising full automation.

Project ATWAS
Our first project supported by Innovate UK which developed a prototype platform for fully automated track width adjustment so that our robots can adjust their platform to suit different spacing.
Project Status: Complete. Patented.
Project IRaaS
We are part of the three-year Industrial Robots-as-a-Service (IRaaS) Project with the Intelligent Automation Centre, Loughborough University. We are contributing our modular robot platforms and unique uRCU® in developing resilient and responsive manufacturing systems enabled by rapidly deployable mobile robots.

Project Insight
Supported by UKRI and Defra in the Farming Innovation Pathways (FIP) program, this project partners with the University of Bedfordshire, Agri-Epi Centre and Place UK to develop our Insight robot's capabilities in monitoring of strawberries and apples from pre to post harvest.
